2013 is not quite over yet, but this year the Section for New Professionals (SfNP) has seen another successful year. Our Summer Seminar in Edinburgh was well received with positive feedback from both speakers and delegates. Off the Record has made the leap from e-magazine to blog and remains popular, with an impressive spike in views for the practical advice on job applications and interviews shared from the panel discussion at the Summer Seminar. The Peer Pals online mentoring programme has been launched following revisions informed by an earlier pilot.
We look forward to meeting those of you who are able to attend our AGM in Liverpool on the 20th November where we will be looking at the challenges and opportunities brought about by working with non record-keeping professionals. In July next year we will be returning to London for our Summer Seminar, further information will be made available in due course.
Some of our committee members are standing down this year following two years of commitment to supporting new professionals. They are Emily Gresham, Sean Rippington, Jenny Mason, Louise Williams and Jill Veitch. There has been an incredible amount of team work which has gone into running the section and all officers are thanked for their hard work. New officers appointed include Keri Nicholson, Karyn Willamson, Fances Lund, Kelda Roe, Stephanie Holt and Richard Wade.
